St Neots Museum

St Neots Museum was opened in 1995, in what was the Old Court – a former police station and law court building on New Street
The museum presents the history of the busy market town of St Neots on the River Ouse, from prehistoric times onwards and includes the original early 20th-century gaol cells where prisoners were detained.

St Neots Priory

St Neots Priory was a Benedictine monastery founded here in about 974. Nothing of the priory remains above ground; the last remaining structure, a gateway, was demolished in the late 18th century. A plaque marks the site.

Cross Keys Mews

Originating as the historic Cross Keys Coaching Inn, a substantial building in the Market Square, with parts dating back to the 17th century, later refronted in Georgian red brick to reflect prosperity.

Alfred Jewel

The Alfred Jewel is an exceptional and unusual example of Anglo-Saxon jewellery made of enamel and quartz enclosed in gold and thought to depict Saint Neot.

Market Square

St Neots Market Square’s history dates back to the 1130s when monks from the St Neots Priory developed it as a central trading hub, attracting commerce near the river crossing and Great North Road.

Day Column

Commissioned by John day in the 19th century, it is a prominent feature on St Neots Market Square.

St Neots Library

Oast house and malting

A distinctive Oast House with its 75-foot chimney has been a landmark feature of the town for nearly three centuries.

Paines Mill

The imposing flour mill in 1827 and was unusual in that it was designed from the start to look scenic.
