Richard Slade

Co-director

Richard has over 30 years of experience working in the public, private and charity sectors in the arts, design and cultural sectors. He works with the four tiers of local government in Cambridgeshire that impact St Neots and is a member of various committees and groups that support tourism and economic growth.

Richard has worked with Huntingdonshire District Council to develop a tourism strategy alongside the recruitment of officers to implement the strategy, and supported the delivery of www.discoverhuntingdonshire.co.uk.

The group brings together stakeholders from the cultural, creative, and heritage sectors to align strategies, share knowledge, and foster collaboration. His role involves contributing insight into local cultural and creative sector needs, supporting cross-regional partnerships and investment opportunities, and providing input into policy discussions and strategy development. I represent arts and culture within the group, ensuring effective communication between the group and relevant networks. Through this work, I help strengthen the region’s cultural landscape, promoting inclusive and sustainable growth for the creative industries.

Richard also runs Neotists, a collective for creatives in the St Neots and Huntingdon area. It started as an idea in 2015 as a way to bring designers, artists, illustrators and photographers together to kick-start a dormant creative community. We commission local creatives to collaborate on projects, run workshops and events for the community and provide opportunities and connections for professionals working in the creative industry.
